Very good question. You could start with the attached spectrum map showing who deploys wimax in Africa. In my opinion the position for WiMAX in Africa is VERY strong. Any emerging market that lacks IP infrastructure should be an area well suited for wimax technologies.

This is nice to know of the Navini and Hyperia project in Port Harcourt on the 3.5Ghz scalable to
802.16e mobile wimax technology.
Are there plans on licensing lower frequencies in the 2Ghz band to facilitate the new mobile trend.

- Suburban Broadband http://bit.ly/7wTKSh

Hello Carlos, What do I need to start WiMAX in Nigeria? I was in Nigeria, and I still realize that bandwidth for both mobile and regular connection is slow. I'm planing to implement a project that will need high upstream and downstream rate.

I'm sorry Babatunde, but I do not know, I only identified the providers as I was searching for non-commercial WiMAX projects in Nigeria, but I can't help you with what is needed to start a company since I do not know how it works there.

Regards,

Carlos
